Pension Overviews
Planning for retirement can be a complicated process, with lots of big decisions to make. That's why your Pension Fund helps you all the way through the process, from deciding on a retirement date to collecting your first pension check.
At least six months before you retire, make an appointment with one of your Fund's Pension Counselors. Your Counselor can help you fill out your pension application to make sure it's complete and accurate, provide you with an estimate of your benefits and review the different options with you.
Your Counselor will also explain any other benefits you may be entitled to, like health coverage, life insurance and burial. And he or she can refer you to additional retirement resources like the Social Security Administration (SSA) and Medicare.

If you're starting to think about retirement, you can schedule an appointment with a Pension Counselor to sit down and talk over your pension options and plan for the future.
We will also be offering retirement planning workshops in June at our Member Services locations for members covered by the 1199SEIU Health Care Employees Pension Fund and Greater New York Pension Fund. Come join us to talk with knowledgeable counselors who will explain the retirement process, inform you of your options and give you any necessary information that you may need to plan your retirement.
